Evermore was meant to be an entirely new landscape with interlocking plots that would allow you to use followers from all mods and bring them along, and some would have unique dialogue such as Clara Goldspirit (also a friend's follower) and Marcelon Ashcroft as they were born here. It was fantastic to plot out but technically we couldn't make it work because most of us were writers and follower modders at most, not environmental designers or scripters. You could use this to check for something like Inigo's NPC_ record and, if it exists, set a global variable to true so your followers will start trying talk to him, querying his existing lines with more GetFormFromFile calls. If the record doesn't exist because the plugin is missing, it returns None.

I actually recently released a mod like this, which provides a set of injected keywords that, when attached to cloaks and other accessories, hooks them up with an appropriate list of fitting enchantments.Īnd as SkyrimSplicer mentioned, you can query records from a plugin that may or may not be present with the GetFormFromFile Papyrus function. Other mods can then include an identical copy of the record(s) at the same address, and have everything they need to know about that other mod without inducing a dependency. I've seen mods like Frostfall, WACCF, and CCOR implement soft dependencies with Update-injected records: generally keywords and global variables, but it can really be any record type.
